To call Zion Toronto’s greatest street artist would be a disservice to his depth. Father, philosopher, activist, community-builder, entrepreneur, artist-at-large these are the words that begin to point to the depth of this man. In front of the camera Zion’s intensity seems magnified. His gentleness and deep sense of gratitude are the qualities that echo in his absence. One of the self imposed criteria for this series of portraits is to not rely on any objects outside of what the subject brings to the session. Zion came with his army-surplus satchel which became a magnificent hat transforming him into this compelling street Buddha. Check out the nonlinear portrait™.
